Our Story
In 1996 company founder Alex Moussavi came to the US (from Canada) with a $100 in his pocket. He went to work for a national IT hardware distribution firm, within a year Alex emerged as a top producing sales professional for the company.
By 2002 Alex decided to branch out on his own & launched Matrixx (in the midst of a recession) with nothing! No financial backing, no industry experience, no clients & not too much common sense ;-)
Surviving some MAJOR trials & tribulations the company managed to grow steadily year after year. By 2008 while many recruiting & staffing firms were experiencing major difficulties. Matrixx actually enjoyed its best year ever with over 50% growth from the previous year.
The catalyst for starting the company was the simple notion that: despite all the technological innovations of the past century - it is PEOPLE that make a business successful. Recognizing that growing companies are frequently faced with the challenge of finding good people, the idea of developing a different kind of recruiting firm emerged. One in which the recruiter served the client as a “trusted advisor”. Just as an attorney should be a trusted advisor for legal matters & an accountant should be a trusted advisor for tax matters. An effective recruiter should be the trusted advisor for all matters related to talent acquisition & retention.
Today Matrixx clients range from some of the world’s largest publicly traded companies to some of the fastest growing Inc500 organizations. The common denominator amongst them being the recognition that having A-level talent on the team is a “game changer”. That enables them to WIN in a very competitive landscape.
